Unforgettable attended the UK B Corp launch party at Proud Galleries in London last night. It was fantastic to be part of such a large, diverse and credible community committed to use business as a force for good to create benefit for all stakeholders, not just shareholders.
We are excited to see the movement scale, drawing higher standards of social and environmental performance, transparency and accountability into the business mainstream.
The event showcased several passionate and inspiring leaders across multiple sectors from Financial Services (Sacha Romanovitch, CEO of Grant Thornton and Michele Giddens, Partner and Co-Founder of Bridges Ventures UK) to Food Services (James Rutter, COOK UK), Retail (Bibi Bleekemolen, Fairphone) and Community Services (Matthew Boyes, Streetlife UK).
All founding B Corp member representatives were invited on stage – look out for James in the picture above – he’s in the star!
We particularly enjoyed hearing the B Lab founder, Bart Houlahan, share his inspiration and vision for the B Lab movement with great charisma and humility.
Finally, many thanks to Ben and Jerry’s (a fellow B Corp member) for providing delicious food for thought, and to the UK B Lab team for hosting such a great event, and for publishing a case study of Unforgettable in the programme (see picture below)!
Over the next year, we will be taking steps to implement B Corp best practices into our business. We look forward to working closely with the community to share our learnings and spread the word.
